I joined in 1986 and was riding my fathers coat tails even before that. As a kid I was fascinated with fire trucks, had my own Tonka & Matchbox fire departments. I watched Emergency, even had the lunch box in kindergarten. Still have it today sitting on a bookshelf. Outside of being a volunteer firefighter, I am a 9-1-1 Dispatch Supervisor for Ulster County and amateur photographer.
Being a member of CVFC deleoped my leadership abilities. I have been a fire officer since 1989 and a chief officer since 1996. At UC911 prior to an official promotion to supervisor, I had been an acting supervisor since 2006. Before 911 I was a manager for an offset printing and photocopy shop. I owe all of this to my time in the volunteer fire service.
